In the 11 years that have passed since ARGO NAVIS’ founding, this shipping market of ours, and especially the environmental projects that are part of it, have both had to continually adjust to a dynamic business environment.
Now, with the crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, this business environment has become even more volatile, with drastic changes appearing on a daily basis.
At ARGO NAVIS, we have been monitoring the escalating crisis and, since the beginning of last week, prepared our teams to work from home.
Our complex 3D designs require our teams to handle huge datasets on relatively high-spec PC’s, therefore this preparation took some time.
Our first five (5) engineers are home-based since last Wednesday, March 11th, following our first ISO9001 compliant QMS internal audit which took place on Tuesday, March 10th.
Eight (8) more of our engineers followed suit on Friday, March 13th.
Since yesterday, the whole company is home-based, while a skeleton crew remains at our headquarters to support all those working remotely and to assist in the coordination amongst the teams, etc.
We are, together with our associates and subcontractors worldwide, dedicated to serving our clients and their projects regardless of our location.
Our short-term planning may be affected, but we are optimistic that our mid-term business plans will remain intact.
We are therefore insisting on maintaining the pace, hoping that the global market and shipping industry will manage to not only return to full capacity, but also to correct various issues such as the retrofit bottleneck which has been recently experienced in the retrofit projects.
We wish our colleagues and customers good luck in their endeavours in this difficult time and hope that they, and their loved ones, remain healthy and safe.
