CRUDE OIL TANKER

ALFA LAVAL

APPROVED BY DNV-GL

JUNE 2019

ARGO NAVIS ENGINEERS LTD. completed an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) feasibility study for a 158000 DWT crude oil tanker. The integration design concerns an Alfa Laval PureSOx Open-Loop U-type system which is to be installed in a dedicated deckhouse forming the continuation of the existing funnel and casing structure.

Two types of analyses were conducted:

  • Static linear for the determination of available strength reserves
  • Modal (free vibration) for the determination of potential resonance with excitation sources originating from the main engine and the propeller.

The Feasibility Study was approved by DNV GL.
